## THE BOARD SAYS AI IS STILL WRITING THE CHECKS

Q4 opened quietly. Futures up a touch, Treasury yields steady, oil easing for a fourth session after a September that ran everything to records.

Then the first prints came in and three of the five biggest gainers were companies that sell equipment and expertise to the AI buildout.

Start with the one that isn't what it looks like.

## Real reason Trump banning Chinese models (AD)

President Trump is [**going to war with China.**](https://clkgrid.com/698f0522fefacb0a786a251f?email=not%5Ftracked&domain=327TBEG&type=SA&product=PCPO61&ref=bareeconomy.ghost.io)

Not a hot war with bombers, drones, and boots on the ground, but a new type of economic war that’s going to have massive consequences both here in the U.S. and abroad.

His administration is drafting a ban on Chinese components inside American data centers. The ban isn’t on chips or software though – it’s targeting a tiny, unglamorous part almost nobody pays attention to.

But it’s this component that [**moves data through every AI facility.**](https://clkgrid.com/698f0522fefacb0a786a251f?email=not%5Ftracked&domain=327TBEG&type=SA&product=PCPO61&ref=bareeconomy.ghost.io)

Officials want the ban published this year because they know the AI war is a zero sum game and whoever is first to AGI (artificial general intelligence) will take *all* the spoils.

This is just part of the story though.

And it’s all downstream of a [**shocking new economic doctrine.**](https://clkgrid.com/698f0522fefacb0a786a251f?email=not%5Ftracked&domain=327TBEG&type=SA&product=PCPO61&ref=bareeconomy.ghost.io)

A doctrine written by a highly controversial Silicon Valley CEO that has been adopted at the highest level of this government, and never once explained to the American public.

It changes what a "safe" stock is.

It changes which companies get protected and which get sacrificed.

And it is already rewriting the rules of investing while most people argue about politics.

[**In this new interview,**](https://clkgrid.com/698f0522fefacb0a786a251f?email=not%5Ftracked&domain=327TBEG&type=SA&product=PCPO61&ref=bareeconomy.ghost.io)legendary financial analysts Porter Stansberry and Luke Lango laid out the full story – including the money moves you need to make ahead of this radical economic shift.

Don’t be left behind.

[**Watch it now while you can.**](https://clkgrid.com/698f0522fefacb0a786a251f?email=not%5Ftracked&domain=327TBEG&type=SA&product=PCPO61&ref=bareeconomy.ghost.io)

## THE BREAKDOWN: FOUR MOVES AND ONE OPTICAL ILLUSION

**1\. Corteva did not lose 84% of anything.**

This morning Corteva completed the separation of its seed business into Vylor, now trading on the NYSE as VYLR. Every holder of record as of September 24 received one Vylor share for each Corteva share.

The stock price fell because most of the company walked out the door into a separate listing. If you held CTVA yesterday you hold CTVA and VYLR today, and your position is worth roughly what it was. The quote screen simply cannot show that in one number.

Worth noting what each company now is: Corteva keeps the crop protection business, the herbicides and insecticides, and the CTVA ticker. Vylor takes the seed and genetics operation, the Pioneer brand, and Johnston, Iowa. California tried to block the separation and a federal judge denied the request this morning, citing how late the filing came.

**2\. Accenture re-rated. It did not just beat.**

Q4 EPS came in at $3.29 against about $3.18 expected. Revenue was $18.68 billion against roughly $18.04 billion. That is a beat of about three percent on earnings, and the stock moved something like twenty.

Three percent does not produce twenty. What produced twenty is that the market had been pricing Accenture as a victim of AI, on the theory that models eat billable consulting hours. Guggenheim downgraded it two weeks ago. The shares were trading around fourteen times earnings.

Then bookings came in at $22.2 billion, managed services set a record at $12.8 billion, and FY27 guidance landed at 3% to 6% growth. The AI-kills-consulting thesis got unwound in a single session.

**3\. Synopsys sells the shovels for the shovels.**

Deutsche Bank lifted its target to $640 from $590 after Synopsys announced two deals: more than a billion dollars with Amazon on custom silicon, and a revenue-sharing partnership with OpenAI to build a chip-design model.

That is a chip-design software company getting paid by the AI firms to help design the chips that run the AI. Synopsys guided FY27 to roughly $11.15 billion and a 44% adjusted operating margin.

**4\. Vicor is a data center power story wearing a components label.**

Up 11% after raising Q3 sequential growth guidance to more than 30%, on royalties from its first non-exclusive license for vertical power delivery.

Vertical power delivery exists because modern accelerators draw so much current that getting electricity to the silicon became its own engineering problem. That is the same constraint behind the grid-battery buildout from the Battery Belt issue.

## THE FRICTION: WHAT A SPIN-OFF ACTUALLY DOES TO YOUR SCREEN

![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/cd/fb/cdfb58c0-652d-463c-a766-e899e4b817ba/content/images/2026/10/bare-economy-spinoff-math.png)

Every automated screener and half the financial apps in America flagged Corteva as a catastrophic decline this morning. Some of them will still be showing a broken one-year chart next spring, because price history does not retroactively adjust on every platform.

This matters beyond one agriculture company. Spin-offs are running hot right now, and Modine to Thermon separated on the same day. If you screen on price moves or hold index products, you will meet this mechanic again within weeks.

The useful habit is simple. Before reacting to any double-digit drop, check for a distribution date and a record date. If both exist, nothing happened.

## Fed’s new power to seize bank accounts(AD)

In a few short months, the US government could make a sweeping change to bank accounts nationwide.

It will give them unprecedented powers to control your bank account.

They could closely track every transaction... even freeze it.

Fortunately, there are[**4 simple steps**](https://clkgrid.com/693ff79ec3ff86ba5ffa09eb?email=not%5Ftracked&domain=327TBEG&type=SA&product=WSFC81&ref=bareeconomy.ghost.io)you can take today that could safeguard your savings.

## THE MACRO EXTRACTION

The pattern on today's board is the one that has run through this newsletter all month. The money is not flowing to the AI companies on this tape. It is flowing to whoever sells them something they cannot build themselves.

Design software. Power conversion. Consulting hours to install the thing. Those are the businesses that got paid today, and they share a quality worth understanding: they collect whether or not any particular model works out, because they bill during construction rather than after.

Accenture is the one to sit with, though. A twenty percent move on a three percent beat tells you the market had a strong opinion and was wrong about it. Positioning that crowded produces violent repricings in both directions, and a stock that can gain twenty on a modest beat can give it back on a modest miss.

Treat today as information about what people believed yesterday rather than a signal about tomorrow. And keep the Corteva lesson handy, because the next time your screen shows a company down eighty percent, the first question is not what went wrong. It is whether anything happened at all.

None of the above is a recommendation to buy or sell anything. It is an explanation of what moved and why.

Keep your capital guarded, hold your ground, and stay sharp out there.
